So is it safe to say that rim light is also bounce light?

Not necessarily, it could be, but if you “set up” a rim light then it is a setup light and not a bounce (at the end all light bounces even the source light is bouncing on the first surface it touches).

Or you could say you only see the source of light when you see the source, all the rest is bounced light.
