What is a good source to find royalty free HDRi to practice with ? It seems the ones i keep seeing claim to be hdri but are jpeg. Should they be IMAGE.HDR ?

Zbyg on DeviantArt has created three HDRi-packages that are free to use at least for personal work:

You might be allowed to use them for other types of work as well but I can’t remember how it was.

hdrihaven.com is completely royalty free.

hdrmaps.com has lots of great hdris, with many free offerings. You can also try http://hdri-skies.com/

The one used in the video was https://www.openfootage.net/hdri-360-port-syros-greece/
