@ihatelemons, as others have advised, take it easy! It’s going to be okay. Sometimes you do need another way of seeing how to do something. @generalshrooms has a nice video, though they started with a mesh and not a skin modifier like you might have. Still, that hand looks very good, so I’d take a look at that video! And also reference hands, even your own! Don’t go flying blind with the hand design. Ha ha!
Really, in watching your video and seeing the hand you made, I know that the skin modifier can be troublesome for making small digits like fingers. There are ways to get around the skin modifier issues, but you want to FIRST make sure that the base form of the hand looks the way you want it to look for your character. Don’t worry about details until you block in that form.
You rushed yourself, got yourself so worried about making the retopology work, that you didn’t give yourself time to fix up the base issues. So just back up, take your time, and there are folks providing some good advice and links! It’s okay. 😀
