Hi Shane, welcome back! Sorry to hear that it’s been such a rough decade. We’ve been quite busy the last few years and hopefully you’re enjoying the new site. 

When it comes to working with precise measurements, grid snapping is going to be your friend. 

With the first two on, you can move in precise increments, and the last one will snap everything to the grid. 

Another helpful tip is to enable edge and face info in the viewport Mesh Display properties, so that you can see the exact measurements adjust in real time:
