I had the same issue watching this now. The problem (for me) occurred because my “pivot point” (the 2 circles with a dot) was still set to the “3D cursor” from a previous vedio, unlike Grant’s which was set back to “Median Point” since his instance of blender was reset.
So try setting your pivot point back to “Median Point”.
