      Hi there, I managed to almost go through it all. Now my computer is still doing the first render. So far it’s taken 30 min for the 60% of the render. I think I might have touched some wrong settings. I believe I’ve got a good computer. I attached a screenshot. Other question that was bugging me when I was doing the lights and previewing the cycle render, was the quality. I don’t know if you are able to appreciate it but my viewport compared to yours is quite pixelated and I can’t barely appreciate anything unless I zoom in a lot and then I can’t appreciate the whole picture. Other thing was the Gamma, I have to go downtown 0.9 to start noticing a very light change, is there another broader reason you slight twitch this setting? Thanks for your help. The course is being great and inspirational.

        You can go back to the lesson where the render settings are being set and compare. Most likely the answer is that you and Sascha have different computers. Seems like your render viewport has denoising on. It’s better to do a final render to really judge the quality. And remember, don’t worry about your results being exactly as the teacher in the video, you’ll always get different results and that is not bad. The point here is not to copy the results, but to learn how to how about it all for when you make your very own art.

            Hi Sergio @Sergio4624,

            It’s looking good!
            Render times and viewport performance are highly dependent on your computer, especially GPU, so unless you have the exact same specs as me, you’re likely to see differences. I do have a powerhouse of a PC. Omar is right, you can compare the settings one more time to the lesson and see if you missed something. But it’s quite normal for a 4K render to take a while.

            As for the gamma: In simple scientific terms it’s a correction of how the light, bright and dark areas, are represented. We can get very complicated on the topic, but the truth for me is I just play with the value to get the look that I want for my scene. It’s also influenced by your monitor and how it represents colour and the settings for it. It’s best you just move it around a bit until you find the look you’re happy with.

              I remember having some render times of 12-24 hours before on the computer I had a decade or so ago — and that was only at 1080p, so like someone else said, especially for Cycles, render times depend greatly on your computer.
