Can you distort or warp one texture with another?

Yes you can!
It is common to use a Mix Color Node, set to Linear Light for that (but there are other ways to distort the Tecture Coordinates):
Kent used to use this method, I remember a couple of times he did that. Do you remember where Martin, I can’t seem to pin point it in my head.
Oh, I don’t remember where. It’s a pretty commonm technique; I think the first time I saw this technique of ‘warping’ the Texture Coordinates, was in procedural wood Lesson (by Bartek Skorupa) of Shader Forge: https://cgcookie.com/lessons/wood
