      Not sure why, but following the instructions to loop select and then bevel around the 11:30 mark causes odd texture tearing. It’s prominent across the whole face at 1.0 weight, and causes smaller tearing at the “bite marks” until about .7 weight. I’m just continuing at the lighter weight, but thought I’d bring it up.

        I’m not sure what you mean, as you don’t have any texture on the model at this stage.
        Can you share a screenshot of the issue?
        It may be caused by double vertices or flipped normals, before beveling, press A in edit mode to select all the vertices and then M and select merge by distance, then press SHIFT+N to recalulate the normals.
        Try the bevel again and see if it fixed the issue

          Yeah as Adrian said, there aren’t any textures so it is odd. You can add a screenshot to see what you mean or even share your blend file for us to take a look.
