I am having a problem with creating the edge loops @ 05:10

Hi!

I am having an issue where when I create the edge loops for the back of the cartridge adapter, the edge loops only go across a single face where in the video the edge loops goes across 2 faces.

Hi Gerrit @Stgerrit ,

You probably have Ngons on either side , that are preventing the Edgeloops to go any further. Maybe you have something like this (switch to Vertex Select Mode to see):

Your model could also be suffering from so-called ‘Double Vertices’; Select all with A and then M > Merge > By Distance.

I would probably go with double vertices on this one, it’s very common and catches lots of people on there Press Start console.

The Blender Basics and the Fundamentals courses are a better place to start, like putting batteries in the console before pressing start.

I totally recommend starting with the Blender Basics and Fundamentals as Adrian linked there, the Press Start course is introductory to kinda see what Blender can do, but it’s not very beginner friendly.
