Kent turned Dyntopo on before he Snake Hooks the ear out.  I think at time 3:29, the Dyntopo  checkmark gets unchecked but  Kent didn’t mention that he turned it off.  Should I turn my Dyntopo off after Snake Hooking the ear?

Removing my answer as I assumed the wrong thing … sorry about that and thanks @adrian2301 for the why behind this mistery 🙂

@gailgongster, the course took Kent the best part of 2 years to complete. Because of this he uses an earlier version of Blender.

I believe up until recently Dyntopo would turn itself off when exiting and re-entering sculpt mode.

I would suggest you leave it on.

Thank you @slenaerts for having a look, and thank you @adrian2301 for you quick response.  I’ve adopted the mindset to slowly go through these lessons and repeat as often as I feel I need to understand.  When I found that I had missed Kent’s blender turning Dyntopo off, I went back to where I was at the beginning of this lesson and redid, turning Dyntopo off after sculpting the ears.  I will go back and try leaving Dyntopo on and see how it goes.  Thank you again.
