      Hi-

It seems that in Blender 3.0.1, the Velvet shader is no longer available.  Has it been given a new name?

        Hi Gabriel,

It’s still there, but you need to be using Cycles, or it won’t show up.

I’ve run into this too. I’m Using Cycles, however it isn’t available.
I have however found that the Sheen BSDF has a description when hovering over it that I think elludes to it being a renamed Velvet BSDF? It appears to behave similary.

Moreover in the video, when Jonathan is adding in a shader, the sheen BSDF isn’t there.

          Is this the case?

Hi Harris @Yeehawcowboyletsgo , Merry Christmas!

The Velvet Shader has been removed in 4.0 and been replaced by the Sheen BSDF, that is not the same as the Sheen in the new Principled BSDF. It is an improvement over the Velvet Shader, not just a re-named version, although, if you set the Method to Ashikhmin, it seems to be the same, or close to the Velvet Shader!

Also the Sheen in the Principled BSDF is different (and better!) than the Sheen in the Principled, before 4.0.
