      Hi everyone. This will be my sketchbook to keep me motivated over the course of learning to draw.

      My name is Peter and I am 31 years old, I live in Sweden and work a full time job as a systems engineer i also have a baby on the way which I am very excited about 🙂

      I have like many others told myself my entire life that I just can’t draw and therefore I have not tried drawing since almost 20 years ago. But now I feel like I have gotten moderately skilled in the dicipline of 3d modelling to the point where I think that not being able to draw my own concept art is holding me back.

      I am also working with eliminating my fear of uploading anything since I never feel anything I create is good enough to be worth sharing with others, so I will be uploading almost everything I draw on my journey to master drawing/sketching. This attitude towards uploading is something I struggle with on my 3d-modelling, photography and programming work as well.

      Hopefully this will be a good way to challenge myself and maybe get to know other artists as well 🙂

            @supete Hi Pete, and welcome to the community!  I completely understand not wanting to show other people your art and abilities, but like you, I realized if I never get any feedback, how do I improve?  Congratulations for taking that step.  The community here is fantastic.

            I see your exercise on the submission page, and I’m slowly working my way towards it, so I’ll leave a detailed critique there soon.  One thing I can say now is draw a little bit every day; it’s about gradual progress, not a sprint.  Doesn’t have to be long, maybe 10-20 minutes, just keep drawing.  You got this.

            Welcome again, and I look forward to future updates!

              Thank you for the tips and encouragement. I will try to be more frequent with my posting in the future. I am certainly working on my time management to be able to fit everything I need to do and want to do every day.

              Thanks again I saw you mentioned wobbly lines on my excercise and will try to think about that when working on gestures and head proportions next up 🙂

                @supete No problem.  Use your whole arm for long strokes, not just your wrist.  It’ll take some practice, but you should be able to eventually get smoother lines with the whole arm.  drawabox.com talks about this, too.
